Not for parents travel book
Book Review, Lonely Planet's Not For Parents Travel Book | Worldschool AdventuresI have written before about ways we try to prepare our children for traveling. One of the ways is heading to our library to take out books about different countries and cultures. My children love to see all of the interesting pictures of the people and places but they are too young to have the attention span for large amounts of non-fiction text. When we read these books together Mike and I will skim over the text, only highlighting interesting information so we can keep our children engaged. The pictures are eye-popping and have interesting little blurbs of explanation, just enough text to keep the little ones interested. Not only is it a great book to get children excited about traveling, it would be a useful tool to teach about geography, humanities, and cultures. My one and only complaint is that I would have liked to see a small thumbnail world map on each page with a pinpoint locating the country.
