18 Books Like A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

Maas Published By Bloomsbury. The book begins with Feyre, a young and determined human girl with a struggling family in a world where the Fae are seen as gods, and killing one, even accidentally, is a crime that no mortal would ever dare commit. When Feyre kills a Fae who appears to be a wolf in the woods she and her family must face punishment. Feyre is welcomed as a guest rather than as a prisoner and though she misses her family she finds herself settling into a life at the Spring Court. Though she is treated well there is, of course an exciting and twisted darkness lying just beneath the surface of her new life. Things start to become increasingly complicated as Feyre tries to navigate the politics of her new home, falling in love and the plot reveals that tie it all together. It is clear from the very beginning that A Court Of Thorns And Roses has roots in the classic tale of Beauty and The Beast, something that I was naturally excited about, as I love to hear of people taking something I thought I knew and making it their own.

O kay… deep breath and pray no-one kills me for this… I have a confession. I have never ever read a Sarah J Maas book! That might not sound so bad, but the thing is, I have actually met her she is super nice and lovely and have all of her books! When I heard Maas was bringing out a modern fantasy retelling of Beauty and the Beast — my favourite Disney story of all time — I knew that the time was now and I had to read this book! I was super grateful when I was accidentally sold it in a book shop a month before its release, and I also received one from the Guardian to read and review! A Court of Thorns and Roses is just as beautiful a book as the title suggests.

Well, it's official, dear reader: I have developed a taste for faeries. My dating profile, should I ever find the wherewithal to make one, might say something along the lines of, "Girl seeking kind and affectionate partner. Pointy ears and wings not required, but preferred. In fact, your Valentine's Day could be 10x better with a bit of fantastical faerie pizazz. A few months ago, I finally read Sarah J. And one written in all caps, no less?

This story will bridge the gap between the original trilogy and the new books. I actually get asked this so often that I made a pronunciation guide! The pronunciation guides are also found at the back of the novels. Where can I buy just The Assassin and the Healer? It is exclusive to the bind-up and therefore cannot be purchased individually.
