What is the difference between abridged and unabridged dictionary?? (Message Board)What's with the ads? My dh and I have disagreed about having our dc read classics that are abridged vs. However, I have relented since dh is a literature buff and WTM also encourages. I still have nagging doubts! Dh purchased Little Women Illustrated Classic as a gift for dd7 and she wanted me to read it to her this killed me since it is my girlhood favorite!

Abridged Vs Unabridged Books. People nowadays have a new way of learning new information. These books are therefore played while the learner simply listens to the audio content. In this connection, there are two general classifications of these audio books namely the abridged and the other being the unabridged book. Content-wise, the unabridged book is the audio book having the most content. It is the full version anyway.

Durkin Hayes Publishing released an abridged version last fall that runs two hours. When Hecht started Books on Tape 20 years ago, the unedited format was the norm. Far and away, shortened versions make up the bulk of releases among major audiobook publishers.
